Gibbon Protection Society Malaysia

On 5th October 2017, a seminar entitled Educational talk: Gibbon-forgotten Apes in Malaysia was held at Dewan Persidangan Bangunan Kedekanan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The seminars objectives were to increase awareness on the decline of gibbon due to demand as pets. About 239 individuals of gibbon were killed just to obtain a single adolescent to sell to the black market which cost between RM800-RM5000. Sadly, people who bought these illegal pet shares their 'joy' to the public using media social.

Lecturers from UKM.

Presentation about gibbon.

It is important to report on the illegal pet trade to the authority at PERHILITAN Hotline: 1800-88-5151. We care, do you?
